Sneaker retailer Kith has partnered with G-Shock for the second time on a limited edition watch. This collaboration is aimed right at 90s watch lovers, as it’s an update to the classic GM6900, which has proven to be one of G-Shock’s most enduring designs since the 6900 series was launched in the mid-90s. This version, in rose gold, is very limited and likely to be a hit with collectors. Let’s take a look.

Kith’s version of the GM6900 represents the first metal bezeled version of the watch. Copper details accent the rose gold ion plating, and while there’s no denying that there’s an opulence to the gold tone used here, the design is actually quite clean and minimal. The shape of the case is the primary focus here. Everything is essentially one solid color, unlike regular production versions of the GM6900, which typically use bright contrasting dial colors against a dark resin case. The case is highly polished and not subtle at all, but that’s obviously not even remotely the purpose of this particular watch.
The Kith logo can be found below the dial, embossed on the button used to light up the display. The GM6900 uses a unique four display layout, and the light puts on quite a show in the dark. Other Kith influenced elements include the inclusion of both a black and white strap in the collector’s set, each offering a dramatically different impression of the watch. The straps incorporate the Kith logo in a repeating pattern throughout.
Of course, in addition to the Kith design flourishes, this is still very much a G-Shock. The GM6900 is vibration, shock, and water resistant, and the module used features support for a stopwatch, countdown timer, full calendar, and a multi-function alarm.
The Kith version of the GM6900 is on sale at Kith stores and online beginning Monday, February 10, at 11:00 AM EST for $380. Expect lines at Kith stores, or rest your refresh finger if you plan to score one online – these are likely to go fast. G-Shock & Kith
