Uttar Pradesh govt imposes lockdown from July 10 till July 13

Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a lockdown in the state starting 10 pm on Friday, July 10, till 5 am on July 13.

The state government has reimposed the lockdown in a bid to cut the chain of transmission of coronavirus, Chief Secretary Rajendra Tiwari said on Thursday.

During the lockdown, starting 10 am on Friday, markets, haats, mandis and offices in all urban and rural areas will remain closed.

However, essential services will continue to ply. Train services will also continue unrestricted.

The Uttar Pradesh government, in its notification, said that all essential and medical services will continue to function as normal during the lockdown and there will be no restriction on the movement of people involved in these services.

There will be no restriction on the movement of those involved in door-step delivery services either.

The Yogi Adityanath government has allowed construction work on all government projects and construction work in rural areas to carry on during the lockdown period.

Uttar Pradesh has so far reported a total of 31,156 Covid-19 cases, according to the union ministry of health and family welfare. Of the total cases in UP, 20,331 patients have recovered so far, leaving 9,980 active cases in the state.
