You Don’t Need to Wait for the Weather to Change to Wear These 16 Spring Outfits

Spring 2020’s fashion trends have been beckoning us since September when the fashion week runways were flooded with statement suits, polka dots and streamlined understated separates. So while the year has only just begun, it feels about right to start thinking about spring and which trends you’d like to try and which new pieces you’d like to buy into for the months ahead. While we know it’s still cold, though, we’re determined to find a way to start wearing spring looks now—even if that means just adding a few bright colours to our outfits here and there.

Yes, 2020 is still a strong year for dresses, but suits and skirts have also risen their way to the top of our shopping list. So if you’re ready to embrace next season, keep scrolling for the street style guide to what to wear this spring, plus the shopping list you’ll need to achieve each look.

Style Notes: We’re looking to our school days for style inspiration this year and making like Megan Adelaide with a boxy blazer and cream pleated skirt.

Style Notes: Okay, this is officially one of the chicest outfits I’ve seen in a while. Camille gives her classic ensemble a lift by pairing various shades of beige. Very Parisian It girl.

Style Notes: The typical thigh-grazing frocks of summer’s past have been replaced by voluminous, smock-like styles, as seen on Alexis Foreman. Just add flats and a minimalist tote.

Style Notes: Shrunken cardigans have become an influencer favourite of late. Add a little sophistication to your look by pairing the item alongside tailored trousers instead of the usual denim jeans.

Style Notes: A good mac and jeans with a roll-neck are always go-tos for transitional weather. Lotte gives this look an update with a snakeskin print and a beaded bag.

Style Notes: It’s time to re-wear last season’s favourite outfit combo: dresses with trainers. Still the easiest and the best for London spring.

Style Notes: Layering is key when it comes to seasonal dressing, and Ellie from Slip Into Style shows us how it’s done. Layer a puff-sleeve blouse under your favourite sleeveless dress for a look that is not only modern but will also keep you warm.

Style Notes: A knitted dress is the unlikely addition to our spring wardrobe. Keep it fresh with a white cropped jacket and ’90s baguette bag.

Style Notes: Jordan Hulse is the literal embodiment of spring in this Topshop Boutique co-ord. We love how she has accessorised with a simple pair of gold hoops.

Style Notes: A suit is a perennial favourite, and this season, we’re loving the check options like this street style favourite from Tibi. Tiffany’s contrasting Rejina Pyo bag makes the look.

Style Notes: This easy outfit combo is so brilliant because it can take us from winter to spring’s early days. If you’ve already bought your spring slip skirt and can’t wait to wear it, pair it with a roll-neck, a jumper and boots.

Style Notes: Stocking up on 2020’s best dresses already? Take them for a spin by layering them under a long trench or jacket.

Style Notes: A jumpsuit is for all seasons but thrives in the early days of spring. Try yours with bold ankle boots or trainers and layer it with a roll-neck underneath on cooler days.

Style Notes: You can stay warm and still try spring’s trending colour combinations. Pastels keep the look fresh and light.
