Eataly – a chain of Italian food halls – can be found all over the world but they’ve so far been absent from London. But now there’s big news as they are heading to the City next year, taking over what was The Royal Bank of Scotland at 135 Bishopsgate. And at 42,000 sq ft, it’s going to be the largest standalone food hall in the country.
If the others are anything to go by, Eataly London will be a one stop shop for all things Italian, with everything from pastas, cheese and salami, to olive oil and wine to stock up on. Mamma Mia! There’ll also be restaurants, bars and a cooking school so it will no doubt be a hit with Londoners and visitors looking to eat, drink and shop the Italian way. Here’s hoping there’s a whole lot of ‘nduja.
If you can’t wait for your Italian fix check out our favourite Italian restaurants across the city.
