K-Mids Just Wore the Same Dress as Alexa Chung and It Looks So Good
It’s rare that the Duchess of Cambridge surprises us when it comes to her wardrobe (she nearly always sticks to her favourite designers) but last night she did just that. At a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to Ireland, she wore an emerald dress by cult brand The Vampire’s Wife. She paired the sparkling dress with emerald pumps, a gold clutch bag and a pair of gold earrings.
I guess it shouldn’t be that much of a shock. While there have been plenty of contenders for the top spot, it’s The Vampire’s Wife that remains the choice dress outfitter when it comes to celebs. Seen everywhere from across Instagram to award-season after-parties, it continues to be incredibly popular way into 2020.
The brand first began gaining momentum back in 2017 when the likes of Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley, as well as a legion of high-profile influencers, all wore the brand’s Festival dress on repeat. Owing to its universally flattering shape—a simple round neck, nipped-in waist, midi-length skirt and elbow-length sleeves adorned with frilly cuffs—it’s little wonder it became an It-girl favourite.
Fast forward to 2019 at the Royal wedding, and the brand went supernova. Not one, not two but three of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s guests opted for the brand’s frocks, putting them firmly in the global spotlight.
The Vampire’s Wife’s illustrious fan club keeps growing by the day: Amber Heard, Busy Phillips, Chloë Grace Moretz, Natalie Portman and Jennifer Aniston (the latest A-lister to wear one of its fabulous creations) all love the brand. And now it can add the future queen of England to the list. What a coup.
