This One Colour Has Been Everywhere at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week has just wrapped, and while we generally expect to see street style imagery awash with bright colours and avant-garde prints, this year, it seems the style set decided to go in a different direction.

From head-to-toe camel to earthy shades of brown and tan, attendees went back to basics this NYFW with an overwhelming number of showgoers dressing in tonal beige outfits. Though this shade may have historically been viewed as «bland» and «dull,» the New York style set managed to prove there is nothing beige about beige. Whether it was a leather skirt paired against a roll-neck jumper or a double-breasted blazer matched alongside wide-leg trousers, influencers and editors have certainly made us rethink buying into beige.

One thing we love about the shade is its undeniable timelessness. Neutral tones of beige will never go out of style and can remain as a staple in your wardrobe for seasons to come. Perhaps the colour’s overwhelming prominence at NYFW is an indication that the style set is choosing to invest in clothes with more longevity? With the increased collective consciousness around sustainability and cost per wear, we wouldn’t be surprised if this was, in fact, the case.  Keep scrolling to see how the fashion set is styling the trend and then shop the colour below.
