How many ways are there to dry your hands?

That's the question photographer Samuel Ryde is trying to answer in his new book, appropriately titled Hand Dryers. It's filled with photos of different types of hand drying apparatus from all over the world. Ryde believes that each hand dryer is unique with its own story to tell, which is why he decided to photograph hundreds of them.

The book's dryers are from around the globe, but here are some London specific ones.

An exhibition of some of the photographs from Hand Dryers will be on at the TM Lighting Gallery, 7 Cubitt St, WC1X 0LN, from 16-20 March 2020. Exhibition open weekdays by appointment only, 10am - 5pm.
