French Summer Courses

The University of Geneva French summer courses were first launched in 1891 and have since achieved acclaim for their high quality. Over the years, eminent professors have been invited to teach the classes, ensuring the unparalleled instruction. Charles Bally, for instance, came to teach stylistics at the beginning of the 20th century.

Our courses have always included workshops and cultural activities to introduce students to local history and experience. Pronunciation classes are also an important part of the programme.

This combination of work and play has been the key to our success as, in one century, we have gone from 98 to over 1,000 students.

We welcome students of all ages from all over the world, which makes our courses an inspiring cross-cultural experience.

Our intensive classes take place every day, from Monday to Friday, in the morning and in the afternoon. All course materials are provided by the University of Geneva.

We offer training in five different skills in small groups from 12 to 19 persons per class: oral and written expression, oral and written comprehension, interaction.

Our optional classes are classified by level and skills. We offer academic conferences, grammar and writing classes, oral and pronunciation classes, courses on Switzerland, cinema, theater, games, francophone songs, cultural activities etc.

We have a special “course + accommodation” offer in partnership with the Cité Universitaire (student lodgings) in the summer period.
