Day 2 of Pitti Bimbo was more relaxed, for us at least, after our Heartbeat award and cocktail party on Day 1. The day started with the Apartment Fashion show, which is always my favorite. The brands in the Apartment (coming directly from Pitti Bimbo’s website) are the luxury soul of contemporary tailoring for kids at Pitti Bimbo: sophisticated collections of clothing and accessories aimed at the most exclusive boutiques. These brands are well known and they always know how to put on a show. These brands include Piccola Ludo, Raspberry Plum, Velveteen, Amelie et Sophie, Paade Mode and Péro.
Piccola Ludo 2020: Piccola Ludo is known for its classic designs and attention to detail, and they did not disappoint for the new collection. Trends we loved from Piccola Ludo were luxurious fabrics, sequins, big bows and metallics. The designs are very wearable and stylish at the same time.
Raspberry Plum 2020: A cult (and hooligans favorite), Raspberry Plum always surprises us in the best ways. We love the stories behind the collections, and this one took us back to the 70’s. We were obsessed with the jumpsuits (Aleksandra please make one in my size), embroidered furs, and colorful tulle dresses that could easily pass for pieces of art.
Amelie et Sophie 2020: Bringing sophistication and luxury to little girl’s dresses, Amelie et Sophie’s new collection featured classic fabrics paired with some new silhouettes. We loved the fringe and shapes of some of the dresses, especially the cape dress on Giorgia. We also saw some plaids and pleating which we are always here for.
Paade Mode 2020: The dreamy collection of Paade Mode this season was to die for! I kept telling Linda I need this in my size, no this one! The variety and amount of different textures and fabrics in one collection is insane. Velvets, mesh, corduroy, florals, chunky knits, anything you can think of- its in the collection. The color palette is also so dreamy and rich- perfect for fall.
Velveteen 2020: Velveteen always has the sweetest little outfits that we want in our size. We love the way they mix and match metallics with plaids and florals with pleats, we could go on and on. The boys collection looked so cute and comfy too!
Péro 2020: Péro is one of our favorite brands and we were obsessed with the way they closed the show. Huge bow headpieces adorned each model and they wore furry monster slippers to complete each look- genius! We loved the bows so much we had to try them on for ourselves. Walking into Péro’s booth is like walking into a dreamy wonderland. The silky fabrics, hand embroideries and playful characters always make us so happy.
We then had another amazing press lunch, talked to some brands and then it was time for the KidzFizz fashion show. The show was set in a long rectangle room with dangling colorful shapes and a winding path for the kids to follow. The brands displaying their collections in the KidzFizz show were: Alitsa, C’era Una Volta, Donsje Amsterdam, Infantium Victoria, Ledum, Mia Bu Milano, Miss L.Ray, Nupkeet 1946, and Phi Clothing.
Trends we saw during the KidzFizz show were metallics, party dresses, soft layering, the trio of houndstooth, plaid and checks, and intricate details.
