Victoria Beckham’s brand is centred around easy-to-mix staples that look polished and interesting, but have a throw-on feel. Staying true to her brand’s style DNA, the Victoria Beckham show was all about the power of a truly great dress. Soundtracked to «Boss in a Dress,» there was a parade of black, polka-dot and printed minis and midis, which have long been the ultimate uniform for British working women. But this collection also had all the hero pieces we can rely on from a Victoria Beckham show: shirts with pointed collars, bright roll-necks and knee-high boots (this season, they’re white with platforms).
There was also a heritage feel thanks to the hero print of the collection. We saw checks in navy, royal blues, browns, whites and greys. Victoria’s finale look always gets as much attention as all the outfits on the runway, and this time, she kept it simple in a white silk shirt tucked into a pair of flared jeans with a skinny braided belt with a gold clasp. Her daughter Harper Beckham might only be 8 years old, but she wore an outfit that we would love to wear too: a floral high-necked midi dress with a pair of lace-up classic Dr Martens.
Unsurprisingly, VB’s show attracted one of the most star-studded front rows of LFW. Alexa Chung, Sam Ronson and Anna Wintour were all in attendance. And then, of course, there was the whole Beckham clan (minus Brooklyn) along with both Victoria and David’s mums, Jackie Adams and Sandra Georgina West.
