See a full list of Reed Gift Fair Sydney 2020 exhibitors here.

Robert Gordon has recognised our collective yearning for the handmade, with the launch of their custom basins. As a reaction to mass-produced bathroom fixtures, these basins have been designed and developed in Australia, available in six different reactive glaze finishes. As we see basins become an object of display and cabinetry being designed around them, we recommend you seek out the Robert Gordon stand to see their latest stoneware in the bathroom range.

Earth Dinnerware

Robert Gordon has tapped into the ceramics movement that takes inspiration from the earth. Their Earth Dinnerware range is high-fired porcelain and available in both natural tones and the darker colourway pictured, both relaying an organic design language.

Robert Gordon will be located at stand K43.

Sand Platform Bowl

Plating and presentation have become a very important part of how we consume our culinary creations. We know that for this reason the Sand Platform Bowl by Robert Gordon is a dinner party companion, letting your culinary work rest on the cream clay with oatmeal fleck vessel. Piquing our interest with a number of objects, we can only expect to spend considerable time at the Robert Gordon exhibit.

Robert Gordon will be located at stand K43.

Ranger Earth Tall Pot Set

While we’re sure it’s easy to get lost in the Canvas+Sasson stand, we’ve selected the Ranger Earth Tall Pot Set as the ideal objects to display your kitchen tools, in a blush pink and rust, sand-blasted matte finish. Contrasting modern shapes with natural hues, we know these warm undertones are here to stay in the kitchen.

Canvas+Sasson will be located at stand FF28.

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.defineSlot(gamAdUnitPath, [300, 250], 'article_medrec_pos3') .addService(googletag.pubads()) .setTargeting("pos", "3"); if (window.gamData.gamKV) { Object.keys(window.gamData.gamKV).forEach(function(key) { googletag.pubads().setTargeting(key, window.gamData.gamKV[key]); }); } googletag.pubads().setCentering(true); googletag.pubads().enableLazyLoad({fetchMarginPercent: 50,renderMarginPercent: 0,mobileScaling: 2.0}); googletag.enableServices(); googletag.display('article_medrec_pos3'); });

Black Timber Dish

Shifting towards a darker mood, we know the charring and smoking of wood has become more prevalent for both the exterior and interior of the home. A traditional burnt timber technique is how the Black Timber Dish from St Barts also came to be, designed as both a fruit bowl or an entertainer’s grazing plate. If you’re leaning on the bohemian side or after objects procured from trips around the globe, the St Barts exhibit should be at the top of your list.

St Barts will be located at stand HH29.

Taro and Tuta Vase

Those with their eye out for objects that fit a textural, brooding brief; Horgans have got you covered. Their Taro and Tuta Vase resemble handmade, carbon-inspired artefacts; not to be hidden away, but proudly displayed in the home. See the Horgans European-inspired living stand for an abundance of home accessories.

Horgans will be located at stand K11.

Abstract Face Clay Planter

We’ve found the terracotta Abstract Face Clay Planter for the green thumb. It’s just one of a covetable selection of indoor planters and home decor Urban Products will have on offer at Reed Gift Fair Sydney 2020.

Urban Products will be located at stand FF11.

Zoe Cushions

Weave reveals a nod to the 1970s with the Zoe Cushions in soft velvet blush and rust hues. For all things fabric and textiles at Sydney Reed Gift Fair this year, don’t miss Weave’s extensive range on offer.

Weave will be located at stand K29.

Valley Wine Cooler

While we still enjoy the summer months, we’ve found the chic Valley Wine Cooler from CAFE Lighting and Living. Visit CAFE Lighting & Living at Reed Gift Fair Sydney 2020 to also see their extensive lighting range, which the wholesaler have specialised in since 1995.

CAFE Lighting & Living will be located at stand G28.

The Edit: Coloured Stone

Breaking away from the monochrome stone mould, we explore nine of our favourite examples of coloured stone in the home.

With its unique veining and striking appearance, coloured stone is a statement choice in the home. Suitable for benchtops, floor and wall applications, natural stone offers resilient heat resistant properties and an elegance that can’t be matched.

A force of nature and a statement made in stone, peruse these nine stone hues that each share a contemporary, opulent edge.

This feature originally appeared in est magazine issue #34.

Woollhara Home by Decus Interiors

Calacatta Viola

We kick off our list with Calacatta Viola, from premium tile and stone retailer Signorino, who pride themselves on sourcing exotic stones from around the world in an abundance of colours.  Calacatta Viola has a dramatic rippled effect within the stone with vivid burgundy veining.

Elegant Grey

Softer in colouring, CDK Stone’s Elegant Grey  has white and gold veins on a darker surface. Elegant Grey is honed and polished, making a sophisticated addition to any kitchen or bathroom.

Fior Di Pesco

Sydney stone company Marable offers natural and engineered stone slabs, specialising in kitchen benchtops, feature walls and fireplaces. Quarried in Italy, Fior di Pesco features a lilac-grey base with prominent veining throughout, incorporating hints of white and salmon.

Arabescato Corchia

The Arabescato Corchia marble from Victoria Stone gallery is a well-known white and grey marble from Carrara, Italy. It is characterised by its contrast of white balling and deeper grey background. This natural stone is heavily polished and can be used for benchtops and flooring.

New York

Another favourite from Victoria Stone Gallery is the New York marble, defined by its pearly base and purple ink-like veining. Due to its translucent background, light can illuminate from the back of the stone, bringing some of the city’s glamour into your bathroom or kitchen.

Invisible Blue

Quarried in Brazil, Signorino’s Invisible Blue is a statement slab, with its intense gold and grey-blue marbling. As part of the retailer’s ‘Grey Stones’ collection, Invisible Blue is suitable for typical internal application along with pool tiling, fountains and mosaics.

Damasca

The Damasca stone by Victoria Stone Gallery is sourced from Greece. It’s known for its blue and purple tones and small spider web-like veins. The dark grey marble can be used for fireplace hearths, vanities and wall tiles, and offers a more subtle veined finish.

Verias Green

Another Greek stone is Signorino’s Verias Green, which showcases a deep green background with shades of lighter green throughout. Dramatic and moody, the deep forest green is balanced with the white and grey accents, and is suitable for use on external walls.

Nero Marquina

We conclude our edit with Marable’s Nero Marquina, recognised by its black backdrop and delicate white veining. A statement in its own right, the Spanish marble remains a timeless option for any room or surface.
