Jeremie Frimpong: Celtic boss Neil Lennon has say on ‘trip’ story

Jeremie Frimpong has no case to answer according to Celtic manager Neil Lennon over revelations in one newspaper that a woman had come over from America to stay in the defender's flat.

The Scottish Sun related details of Tyjah Bowens' trip to Scotland to hook up with the teenager that she had shared on Instagram, the 22-year-old having not appeared to self isolate on arriving in the country. However, Lennon was dismissive of the suggestion that Frimpong could have breached Covid-19 regulations.

"It's a non-story. Jerry didn't break any rules. I have to question the timing of the story because we were aware of it a few weeks ago," said Lennon, a possible reference to the story appearing only days after it emerged that Rangers duo Jordan Jones and George Edmundson were fined and told to self isolate for 14 days by police after they broke up a house party in a flat in Glasgow in the earlier hours of Monday morning.
