Satish Maneshinde on Rhea hounded by media: People might get infected with coronavirus

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) questioned Rhea Chakraborty for the second time today. The actress was grilled for eight hours in connection with the drugle angle in Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

According to reports, an accused, who was nabbed by the NCB in connection with the drug case, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. This has raised questions on the security of the people who are being probed by the NCB.

Yesterday (September 6), images of Rhea, pushing through a sea of media persons while trying to reach the NCB office, circulated on social media. Many lashed out at the media for not maintaining social distancing at a time when the country is battling with a pandemic.

In today’s media briefing, NCB Deputy Director MA Jain said that they have no information of the accused being tested positive for the novel coronavirus but they are taking all the necessary precautions.

Now, Rhea’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, has reacted to the same. He said, «Well, it's a welcome sign in view of the pandemic situation and the way the media is behaving. I'm told one accused, whom NCB has nabbed, has tested positive for coronavirus. The manner in which the media have been hounding people concerned with Sushant’s case is horrendous. There is every chance that people might get infected with the virus if social-distancing isn’t maintained. It’s time that the authorities take note.»

In today’s press briefing, NCB Deputy Director also said that Rhea is cooperating with the investigation and that she is called again for questioning tomorrow. He also informed that the NCB will produce one of the accused arrested yesterday through video conferencing as per CMM courts order.
