Peek Inside Michael Jordan’s Home Where the “Breakfast Club” Practiced

One of the most iconic figures in sports has a home for sale. Basketball great Michael Jordan recently put his custom-built Chicago-area estate on the market with an asking price of $14.85 million. Located in the posh suburb of Highland Park, the contemporary style mansion at 2700 Point Lane sits on seven acres of land surrounded by more than 150 trees, a setup that would obviously appeal to someone who prioritizes privacy.

In April and May of this year, ESPN aired "The Last Dance", a ten-part docuseries on the Chicago Bulls' 1997-98 season. The property is where Jordan hosted "The Breakfast Club", where teammates Scottie Pippin, Ron Harper, and Randy Brown met for early morning workouts and meals prepared by Jordan's chef.

Built in 1995, the 30,000 square-foot home has nine bedrooms and 15+ bathrooms. It features hardwood flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows throughout as well as multiple skylights. There's also a first-floor laundry, an in-law suite, a wet and dry bar and an entry gate bearing Jordan's famous Chicago Bulls number 23. After substantial renovations, the home also has a cigar room, top-of-the-line appliances, a regulation-sized basketball gym, tennis court, putting green and curricular infinity pool, each upgrade designed to Jordan's personal taste. There's also a guest house and a large patio which can be reached from six different entryways in the home.

The luxury residence is no stranger to the market. The home was first listed in 2012 for $29 million and failed to net a new owner when it was placed up for auction in 2013. The price dropped to $20 million the following year, and then saw another reduction to $14.9 million in 2018.

Integra Realty Resources managing director Gail Lissner offered an explanation of why the home remains unsold, telling The Real Deal last year, "Any time you have these homes that are just kind of gross over-improvements for the area they do lead to very, very lengthy marketing times," she said. "It's located in an area that is much more modest."
