This East London Pub Has A Miniature Train In Its Beer Garden

Yes. Just yes. Image: Holly Tree
Well this brings a whole new meaning to train beers…
The beautiful Holly Tree pub in Leytonstone has just undergone a huge refurb, part of which includes a fully functioning miniature railway in the beer garden.

The booths in the garden have a train station vibe, too. Image: Holly Tree
This is the 16th pub created by erstwhile Olympian swimmer, and dealer of restored Routemaster buses, Robert Thomas. Says Thomas:
I have a penchant for pubs and for all things mechanical so adding a 7 ¾  gauge train to the garden of our latest pub, is the perfect fit.
The electric train will be worked by its own driver — and nope, you can’t drive it yourself. Still, we predict crowds as big as those you usually see in Euston station at rush hour.

Doors open on 18 October
A London bus will also be added into the garden, for customers to hire for parties.
The Holly Tree, 141 Dames Road, Leytonstone E7 0DZ, opens Friday 18 October at 6pm
