As a result of two years of work and research, the Responsible Select comprises products that match the requirements of one (or more) of the MatchesFashion’s four sustainable pillars: Artisans, People, Charity, and Materials.
The Artisan category covers brands where 50% or more of the production team is made up of artisans, or craftspeople for either all of the collection or a specific collection. The People category highlights brands that promote fair work environments, and fair-trade practises and ensure workers are paid a certified living wage. In the Charity section, you’ll find brands that either maintain long-term partnerships with charities, nonprofits, and social enterprises or have created their own programs. And finally, the Materials category showcases products that contain more than 50% of the lower-impact materials like recycled, vintage, plant-based or organic fabrics. . Each category has its own section in the online, allowing customers to shop depending on which cause is most important to them.
