You might be reading this and thinking, «Hey, isn’t this the same schmuck who tried to convince me it was time to start thinking about spring only yesterday? What gives, man?» Well, that’s the way the weather is around this time of year, pal. I don’t make the rules. I don’t even enforce ’em. If you got problems with how I run things around here and not with the fact that climate change is gradually turning any semblance of real seasonality into one long slog of consistently terrible weather you need to take a serious step back and look at the bigger picture here. Think of Greta Thunberg!
Because I’m in the business of providing real, practical advice, here’s some real, practical advice on how to dress for a day out and about in the new reality of wild, post-apocalyptic weather: Wear a thermal shirt. Thermals are often instantly recognizable for their signature waffle-knit pattern and the high amount of warmth they provide, and the types popular today can just as readily be rocked as a standalone or a layer.
I’m not saying Greta Thunberg officially endorses these thermals, but I’m not not saying that either. (To be clear, I’m NOT saying that.) Am I on shaky ground here? For sure. Does it feel appropriate given the tenuous situation the global climate crisis has engendered? Also yes. What better way is there to while away time as the world ends than by shopping for new shit?
