Pitti Bimbo 90 was SO MUCH fun! This time around we brought Natasscha Girelli, our art director to Florence with us to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We returned to Pitti Bimbo with an exhibition that explored the 5 senses. Tasting, touching, seeing, hearing, and smelling everything that makes our hearts beat. An interactive wall with an editorial by Claus Troelsgaard (art direction and styling by Natasscha Girelli) presented products selected by our team that was linked to each sense.

We presented our Heartbeat award to UPA Kids while models showcased their delicate collection. The exhibition curated by the Hooligans team, was on display from Jan 16-18, on the top floor of the Main Pavilion at Pitti Bimbo.

The first of the Fashion Shows was Children’s Fashion from Spain. Saving the earth and stopping pollution was the motto for these children. The brands that showcased their collections in the Spanish show were Abel & Lula, Boboli, Mayoral and Tuc Tuc.
From Abel & Lula, trends we saw were muted palettes, graphic line prints, mixing of leather and woven, fur collars and business type blazers.

From Boboli we saw playful, fun colors, save the earth slogans, headpieces and accessories made from recycled trash and camouflage to gear up in the fight against global warming.

Mayoral presented chic, polished designs featuring dusty rose palettes billowing sleeves, checkered prints, puffer jackets and pops of red for the boys.

Lastly but definitely not least, Tuc Tuc featured black and white furs, metallic puffers, animals and animal prints, florals and the coolest shimmery glitter details.

The day was packed with fashion shows and next was the Benetton show by art director Jean- Charles de Castelbajac. Trends we saw were teddy bears sewn into jackets (coolest thing ever), colorful stripes and stars, playful doodles and a nod to the cities around the world.

Keeping with the eco-friendly mantra, models at the Il Gufo show paraded down the runway in Scottish inspired armor to “defend the earth”. We saw more teddy bears, florals, plaids, scotties and royal dresses fit for a queen. Bagpipers set the tone for the Scottish themed show, and the wee one even knew all the notes!

The Monnalisa Circus Fashion show was the perfect way to end the night at the Station Leopolda. Upon entering the show, the magnificent MONNALISA letters greeted us on the way in. Once we were inside the circus, we were entertained with dramatic music and circus performers standing on rolling balling, juggling and hat throwing. Circus food and drinks were handed out as we watched a performance by Manfredi Grigolo and Malachii. As the show started, the entertainers welcomed the models out of the circus tent showcasing the new collection. Trends we saw were plaid, reds, Disney and Popeye, glitter boots, animal prints, and extravagant tulle dresses.
