Lindfield House by Daniel Boddam

Interior designer, architect and furniture designer Daniel Boddam reimagines a 1980s home in Sydney’s Upper North Shore.

This Sydney home was in need of a full revamp, for clients who requested a modern image with a mid-century twist. Renowned for creating calm and refined spaces, Daniel Boddam and stylist Studio CD set out to transform the double-storey home into a timeless abode fit for years to come.

We take a closer look at the design-led product selection and explore how to achieve this considered home’s look with pieces from Daniel Boddam Furniture.

A large, stained rosewood door defines the entrance of the home. Inside, Tongue n Groove’s European oak flooring runs through the entire ground floor, setting the tone for a calm and refined colour palette. Door heights were raised throughout, now set with black steel-framed doors, that allow for an influx of natural light while still providing privacy.

The dining room showcases a Daniel Boddam custom-designed dining table with Vilda 3 dining chairs from Great Dane Furniture. Hues of pink and terracotta are contrasted with a gold pendant, making this room the most colourful in the home.

Repositioned to enable for more living space, the kitchen is efficient and simplistic, with a white marble benchtop and timber veneer cabinetry. Premium appliances, matt black tapware and an undermount sink complete the space and successfully maintain the home’s elegant aura. 

Built-in cabinetry and an Armadillo & Co rug adorn the main living area. An elevated living space with aluminium sliders separates itself from this family room, with sheer grey curtains diffusing the sun.

The placement of the staircase was amended to evoke a greater sense of arrival. A Christopher Boots’ Prometheus II Pendant from Est Lighting hangs above, making for an intriguing design focal point from the entrance of the home. In the master bedroom, a custom velvet bedhead runs along the back wall set against textured wallpaper, with soft carpet underfoot. The layering of different materials creates a soothing atmosphere.

A generous internal steel-framed door encloses the bath and shower space in the bedroom, creating a secluded yet open haven for relaxation. 

Backed by Daniel Boddam’s core values and careful consideration of products, the Lindfield residence is a true testament to timeless design.
